What happens when you receive my listing?

All valuations are conducted "in-house" by our own professional valuers, George Sym, Adrian Wright and Andrea Carlton who are respected throughout the industry, and with a combined experience of over 43 years.

This service is free to any public customer and completed usually within two working days whereupon we will make contact with you by e-mail. At no stage are you under any obligation to sell to us whatsoever.

A Fee Tariff card is available to all Insurance and other Company/Corporation entities seeking valuations for professional purposes.

Each title that you have listed will be thoroughly checked and cross-referenced against 103 independent and verified source points, that are exclusive to our company, giving a comprehensive accuracy for:

  • Current average market values relevant to the assumed “mint/ as new” condition of each item which at this stage also has to assume that no disc surface has more than one or two light cosmetic scratches (unless you have clearly stated the condition to be otherwise).

  • Current public and/ or trade interest and/ or demand (which notes how rare each title may be and/ or additionally how flooded the market is of each title).

  • Whether the title is now freely or cheaply downloadable and/ or repeatedly broadcasted and/ or largely superseded by a more modern format (which will have a notable effect on its value).

  • The overall re-saleability of the title, which checks that the title isn’t already “Market Saturated/ Flooded**”.

**What is a Market Saturated/ Flooded Title?

Basically a title, often a past major release on any format, which has exhausted its ability to be re-sold as a pre-owned item almost irrespective of price.

Often such titles no longer have a defined value and as a consequence a "close to nil" re-sale potential within the current market, often being seen on our colleagues sites such as Amazon averaging between 1p and 50p by both the public and trade.

Where a collection is deemed by our Valuation Dept to contain more than 70% of such titles, we would not be able to return a positive valuation nor an offer I'm afraid.

We are, as a professional company, very sensitive of course to the fact that you may have spent many hours compiling your listing. But whilst very unusual to assess a listing containing more than 70% Market Saturated/ Flooded titles it would remain commercially unviable to purchase them from you for the reasons given; we are sorry.

OR

If the value of your collection has been assessed at less than £90 a viable offer could not normally be made.

In either case a full and courteous explanation will be included in our reply to you.
