What condition is acceptable?

In order to accurately and professionally assess the market value of your collection we have to start with the assumption that everything you have listed is:

• Genuine, Original and Complete.

• In an "As New" and "Mint" Condition.

• Without Fault, Damage, or Defacement.

In other words they have all been carefully looked after and other than say the odd one or two items, all remain very close to their condition when purchased from new.

BUT if you know already the titles that could not best be described "as new" then just pop an asterisk * alongside each one as your are listing them.

OR If you're just not sure, or haven't the time to check then please make an overall comment when submitting your list or photographs that they are "UNCHECKED".

Please do note that all disc-orientated items cannot be described "as new" if they contain MORE THAN one or two VERY LIGHT "cosmetic" scratches on any of their surfaces.

FAQs

Q: Some of my discs appear to have more than one or two light scratches, will you still accept them?

A: Yes, if you have indicated with an asterix next to each title an allowance would have already been made.

Q: The majority of my discs have got more than one or two light scratches and/ or have sleeve/ case wear, will you still accept them?

A: No, if the majority of your collection contains such items then regrettably the Film Vault cannot accept them.

Q: What if I don't mention it and you find some of my discs have more than one or two light scratches or the sleeve/ case has wear damage?

A: A reassessment of the market value based on the amount of scratches or wear to the sleeve/ case will be conducted for you only on what we hope is just a few numbers and we will telephone you with these results.

Q: What if I don't wish to accept a reassessment, can I have just these items back?

A: Yes, legally "the rights of ownership title" do not pass to us until we have paid you. If you wished for the items that we have deemed to be of lower value because you had not originally notified us of their being more than one or two light scratches or there is general wear and tear damage then the option to have just these items returned would be offered to you.

Q: If I haven't got the time to check everything and I indicate that my entire listing is "UNCHECKED" as you mentioned above, how do you take this into consideration?

A: We will still assume that there are no more than one or two light scratches and no wear damage to sleeve or case and value accordingly because the vast majority of collections coming in to us are in a mint condition and so the assumption would always be that your collection is within the vast majority.
